Media increasingly define our lives. Their growing diversity produces chances and risks. At the same time their use is becoming increasingly complex. Key topics of the conference are media themselves and their opportunities, risks, uses, influence on our lives and our influence on them, today and tomorrow. Conference languages are English and German.
The conference series Mensch & Computer (Human and Computer) was initiated in 2001 by the German Gesellschaft für Informatik (Society of Computer Science) as the leading event in the area of human-computer interaction in German speaking countries. The conference provides a platform for presentations and discussions on innovations in human-computer interaction, user-oriented design methods, interactive applications and related topics. The aim of the conference is to discuss innovative research results and to promote the exchange between researchers and practitioners.
The German UPA Track provides a forum for presentations and discussions of usability in practice. It is the largest meeting of usability professionals in German speaking countries. It focuses explicitly on everyday work experience and creates a unique opportunity for discussion and exchange.
The Entertainment Interface Track has been established at the Mensch und Computer last year. The track will be continued and researchers, developers and designers will be allowed to present and discuss innovations especially in interacting with computer games and other entertainment applications.
The conference offers many opportunities of participation: Full papers, poster presentations, system demonstrations, full and half day workshops as well as tutorials.
A doctoral consortium will offer a platform to discuss current and recently completed doctoral dissertation projects together with experts from all disciplines. Selected papers will be published in the conference proceedings.
We hope to have stimulated your interest and we look forward to seeing you at the conference.
Yours, Maximilian Eibl
